We have all the answers to life's serious questions
Dear Rev. Drinkmo,Check out this article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/30/uncontacted-tribes-discov_n_104290.htmlIs this a case where we must follow the prime directive (as they are obviously pre-warp), or should we minister the True Faith to these tribes in the Amazon?
Bu...bu...but...there must be some way to minister without introducing our diseases to them. But, how could that be?I think the hologram doctor would likely scare the poops out of the uncontacted folks. Then again, wouldn't it be something if they told tales of aliens or knew where a bigfoot might be living?Oh, the quandry. The choices.Rev Elvis, you sure do live under a lot of pressure in times like these.
These are difficult times indeed, Billy. But if we strive to live with Captain Kirk in our hearts and carry the good word of Batgirl on our lips, we are bound to prevail. Friends, we must remember that it is not this life we should concern ourselves with, it's the next one where we will be with our Heroes in the Hall of Justice. The short answer to your question, Chris, is yes, this is a blatant violation of the Prime Directive. Violating the Prime Directive will bring about the most severe punishment imaginable- eternal separation from Starfleet. Without Starfleet there can be no peace. We must never interfere with the development of pre-warp societies. Otherwise, when they come to attack us they will be using phaser rifles instead of coconut launchers and blow guns with bamboo arrows. Clearly this is a threat at the highest levels and it should be avoided at all costs.I hope that answers your question.
AHHHH, Gorilla Grodd!
