Your Star Trekiology verse of the week.
After Cardassian leader, Gul Dukat, leads a massive assault against Deep Space Nine, the station's lone, exiled Cardassian resident (to the right in the picture with our beloved and Holy Starfleet Captain- Benjamin Sisko), Garak, tells of how he once had a chance to shoot Dukat- while his back was turned.
The station's chief of security pointedly asks him, "You'd shoot a man in the back?"
To which Garak replies:
"Well, it's the safest way. Isn't it?"

That is,quite possibly,my favorite quote from all DS9.
Nice bunch to worship, Elvis. As for me and my house, we will follow Obi Won Kenobi.
Here at the First Church of the DC Comictician and Latter Day Citizens of the United Federation of Planets, we don't worship Cardassians- even Garak.
We simply acknowledge their words and hope that they might be of some use in the event of an early Borg invasion.
Our Holy Starfleet Captains instruct us to do no less.
To put some closure on this anecdote:
Garak explains that he didn't kill Gul Dukat because the two of them were fighting Klingons and he couldn't do it alone. Odo, the station's security chief asks, "and now you regret it."
With the a large Dominion invasion fleet on its way- headed by Dukat, Garak replies:
"Ah, my dear constable; by the time this day is over, the entire Alpha Quadrant is going to regret it."
